A 49 -year -old military police officer was arrested in the act last Saturday (8) suspected of assaulting a bailiff who was serving a court order in the city of Ibirité, the city of Greater Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.
In a statement, the Minas Gerais Court of Justice (TJMG), repudiated the aggression suffered by server Maria Sueli Sobrinho, 48, and reported that the professional needed medical attention after the aggressions.
“The fact is unacceptable and causes indignation, especially because it occurred on the day that symbolizes women’s struggle for respect and equality,” says the note. “TJMG does not tolerate any form of violence against its servants and their servers. The calculation of the pitiful fact will be accompanied by the competent courts of the Court, until its outcome, ”continues the position of the Court.
Also according to the TJMG, the court’s institutional security office was immediately fired and provided full support to the bailiff.
The Union of the Minas Gerais State Justice Officers (Sindojus MG) also expressed repudiation of the case and charged a response from society. “The attack on a public servant who fulfilled his duty is unacceptable and requires a firm response from the whole society,” he says in a stretch.
“On International Women’s Day, when we reaffirmed the struggle for equal rights and the fight against violence against women, we come across another case of brutality against a professional who, daily, works to guarantee the effectiveness of justice,” the union said in a statement.
The Military Police, by means of a note, said the suspicious agent of the assault was out of time. The corporation also stressed that all measures of Judicial Police and Military Judicial Police were adopted.
According to the Minas Gerais Civil Police, in addition to the PM, two other women, 21 and 42, were sent to the police station to give testimonials. The Civil Police said that “judicial police procedures are underway.”
