The US has suspended military assistance to Ukraine, while leaders of the EU and other countries are discussing the support of Kiev and the ceasefire in Ukraine.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will host virtual interviews among the leaders of countries who are willing to support a ceasefire in Ukraine on Saturday. This was announced on Monday by his office, TASR writes, according to the AFP report and Sky News.
“You can expect the Prime Minister to organize a second meeting of the leaders of the coalition willing to build on his summit in Lancaster House,” said Starmer spokesman.
Stamer, March 2, hosted in London’s Lancaster House near Buckingham Palace Summit of 19 high representatives from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Denmark, Finland, Poland, Czech Republic, Romania or Canada, as well as NATO and NATO. The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj was also present.
After the summit, the British Prime Minister confirmed the plan to organize a “coalition of willing” to supervise any peace agreement in Ukraine; Britain would play a leading role.
They have been expecting good results since negotiations
Two days before the meeting in London, the Greenland Ostrý had an exchange of views with US President Donald Trump in an oval office. In recent days, Trump has increased pressure on Kiev to start peace negotiations with Russia. The US has therefore suspended the sharing of news information with Ukraine and military assistance to Ukraine.
This week, Ukrainian and American officials will also discuss the peace in Ukraine at a meeting in Saudi Arabia. Trump said he expects good results from Jewish negotiations.
EU leaders in Brussels also discussed the support of Ukraine and the European defense last week. In February, French President Emmanuel Macron also organized two extraordinary summits about Ukraine.
