The State Council has certified the Fiasco of the investigation of the Begoña Gómez case promoted in the Madrid Assembly by the PP of Isabel Díaz Ayuso to Avala, in line with its previous opinions, that the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, is not inspected by a regional Parliament, even if it is summoned “in its mere status as a husband.” Thus it is recorded in an opinion that the country has accessed and that consumes the false closure of an organ that will end their work with after being designed by the conservatives to wear out the head of the central executive through the supposed treatment of favor received by his wife in his employment relationship with the Complutense University. Gomez is charged, corruption in business, intrusion and improper appropriation in his work as in the educational center.
“The Investigation Commission created by the Madrid Assembly (…) cannot control the performance of the President of the Nation’s government in that matter or require him to appear as such or as an spouse of the co -director of the Extraordinary Chair of Competitive Social Transformation of the Complutense University of Madrid,” reads the opinion.

“The functions of the investigation commissions created within the Madrid Assembly are limited to the purification of political responsibilities of the authorities of said autonomous community and cannot be projected outside it to exercise control of the action of the Government of the Nation or other autonomous communities,” reads the opinion. “People who are not part of the regional government or hold the status of authority or public official of the Community of Madrid are not obliged” to appear, according to the regulations of the assembly itself, recalls the advisory entity. “From an objective point of view, the commission (…) lacks power to control the action of the president of the Government of the Nation in the indicated matter,” follows the text. Nor does it have it, it is added, to summon him in his condition as a spouse.
Gómez, when Sanchez was not yet secretary of the PSOE, as director of a fund collection course. When Sanchez already led the socialists, that course evolved to a master’s degree. At that time, he put himself in front of another: the master of competitive social transformation. Gómez’s professional relationship with the educational center ended in 2024, when the university canceled as the wife of Sánchez taught.
The PP, which enjoys absolute majority in the Assembly, promoted this commission in summer with the excuse that the case that affects Gomez, also investigated judicially, corruption in business, intrusion and undue appropriation in his work in the UCM, affected the prestige of the educational center.

However, parliamentary investigation languishes since Gomez appeared in the commission in November, hosting his right not to declare.
