Surprising success of the car manufacturer in the gastre
In 2024, 8,552,000 Currywurst sausages were sold in the dining rooms and supermarkets from VW, a popular German delicacy. Sales of series produced Volkswagen Original Currywurst sausages in 2024 thus broke the previous record of 2023 by more than 200,000 units, spokeswoman VW confirmed DPA. Sausage sales data were listed in the internal report for VW workers.
“With more than 8 million pieces of Volkswagen sausages sold, we are celebrating a new sales record,” wrote VW Gunnar Kilian, head of LinkedIn, VW Gunnar.
Unlike the rapidly growing sales of sausages, the sale of vehicles from the VW group in 2024 decreased by 2.3 % to 9.03 million models of all brands, including Audi, SEAT and Skoda. For the basic VW brand, sausages are clearly the best -selling product. In 2024, it was 8.5 million sausages compared to approximately 5.2 million cars and VW logo supplies.
In its own butcher’s car manufacturer
The company is attributed to the record by new variants, such as the sausage in the roll launched in 2021, which sold almost 2.18 million units last year. Classic Currywurst sausages were sold last year by 6.317 million units.
Currywurst sausage with the VW brand was introduced in 1973. It is sold in canteen in VW factories and is also available in many supermarkets in the German Federal Land of Dolné Saxony, where VW has its seat and many of its largest races. Sausage is produced in its own butcher’s car manufacturer and is even listed in the VW inventory systems under its own number 199 398 500 A.
