And no, this time the rule is not related to the weight of your luggage, but to the transport of liquids.
Can only transport fluids with capacity up to 100 milliliters
Those who have a habit of traveling with hand luggage will surely know that when it comes to putting the liquids in the backpack or trolley, you will have to be careful. This is because each liquid package can only have a maximum capacity of 100 milliliters.
This rule came into force in 2006 and remains today, as it emerged as a safety measure against terrorism (there were plans to explode aircraft using liquid mixtures).

Still, last year, in many airports it is no longer necessary to carry all liquids together in a transparent plastic bag. All of this was possible due to the use of scanners that, thanks to their X -ray technology, allow you to get more detailed images of luggage and, consequently, facilitate all inspection.

What is known is that since September it has been mandatory to transport all liquids together in a transparent plastic bag, which has to be placed aside from the safety of the airport. According to the return to this rule, it is due to the prohibition of the use of these scanners on all airports, since technology C3 “does not fully fulfill the required safety standards.”
The measure affects all airports, including the main hubs Portuguese, such as Lisbon Airport or Porto Airport.
