According to him, the proposal aims to ensure that parents and authorities have access to images in cases of suspected abuse, aggression or any inadequate conduct within the classrooms.
“Parents have the right to know what happens within schools. When we leave our children at the door of a classroom, we trust that they will be safe and well cared for. Unfortunately, this confidence has been shaken by numerous cases of abuse and neglect that come to light. This project seeks to bring more protection and transparency to families,” says the councilman.
He says this is not a new version of the, which provided for the installation of cameras to avoid supposed ideological indoctrination of leftist teachers. According to the councilman, the focus is solely the issue of security.
The project does not allow monitoring in real time, nor recordings in places such as bathrooms and locker rooms. The images will be stored for 90 days and can only be accessed upon formal request from parents or competent authorities when there is evidence of irregularities.
Rubinho says he presented the project motivated by recent cases of assault on children in schools in various states.
