The president (PT) spoke by telephone on Monday (10) with the secretary general of (United Nations), António Guterres, to discuss the mobilizations for the UN climate conference.
Lula emphasized the importance that new greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals to be presented by countries later this year are aligned with the objective of maintaining an increase in global temperature by up to 1.5º C.
Guterres, in turn, reported that he has kept contact in recent days with more than 30 countries and that almost all of them would be working to present his new goals soon.
In the connection, they set a virtual summit for April to discuss the progress of the Brazil-UN partnership by climate ambition last September, and the goals set by the countries.
