Operation against reception seizes more than 10,000 cell phones in SP

The São Paulo Civil Police seized more than 10,500 cell phones on a operation that aimed receivers throughout the state. The action is part of another phase of the nicknamed “Big Mobile” operation.

The agents have supervised stores and other properties based on surveys made by the intelligence sector, which pointed to the main places where cell phones are taken after being stolen or stolen.

Almost 2,000 police officers participated in the operation, 476 in São Paulo and 381 in the Greater São Paulo region. The others were distributed through the headquarters of the Judicial Police Departments of the interior of the state.

In January this year, during the first and second phases of Big Mobile, the teams recovered more than 16,000 cell phones without origin in the capital and Baixada Santista.

After the seizures, the cell phones were sent to some police stations, which must identify the origin of the devices.

In all, more than 1,500 reported reports from January to the end of February were analyzed by police only today (10).
