COP30, according to Corrêa, should be a support point to leverage these resources and integrate digital and climate transitions in what called the “new industrial revolution”, but this time conscious about the climate.

The ambassador also emphasized the need for fair transitions, which consider structural inequalities between countries. “By helping each other in transitions that are fair, our common but differentiated responsibilities will serve as strong levers to the disposition of countries to contribute to the climate struggle,” he writes. This view is essential to ensure that all countries, regardless of their level of development, can effectively participate in the fight against climate change.

As COP30 approaches, Corrêa do Lago has summoned leaders, stakeholders and citizens to join a “movement of movement”, a global effort that integrates different sectors of society in the fight against climate change. “COP30 must respond to the climate crisis by triggering a global movement of local, multissectoral and various stakeholders movements,” he says.
