The (Federal Supreme Court) sentenced 63 more defendants by 2023. With the new decisions, established in session closed on February 28, the Court has at least 480 sentenced by the acts against the headquarters of the three powers.

Of the actions completed in February, 47 were analyzed by the plenary and 16 by the first class. Penalties range from one year of detention, replaced by alternative measures, to 17 in prison.

In total, the scammer acts resulted in complaints against 1,687 involved.

This year, there were 109 convictions in the February sessions. There is another criminal action in trial to be completed on Tuesday (11).

Each defendant is tried individually by the Supreme Court. All judgments occurred in a virtual plenary, in sessions from February 1 to 28, a remote environment through which ministers include votes and there is no discussion among them about the topics analyzed.

In the period, the Court also approved a non -criminal agreement signed with two people accused of criminal association crimes.

Of the convictions imposed by the first class, nine were for more serious crimes. In such cases, the convicts received penalties from 14 to 17 years. They must also pay compensation for collective moral damages of at least R $ 30 million.

The value corresponds to the material losses caused, in addition to damage to cultural and historical goods, and must be divided by all convicts.

Those with milder penalties should comply with 225 hours of community service, participate in a course on democracy, law and coup with content prepared by MPF (Federal Prosecutor) and pay fines, and are prohibited from leaving the city where they live and participate in social networks until the final sentence.

All had suspended passports and eventual registration or possession of a repealed weapon. In this case, the solidarity fine, to be divided by all convicts, was set at $ 5 million.

For the majority current, the defendants were part of a group that intended to overthrow the democratically elected government in 2022.
