The Superior Court of Justice (STJ) will judge on Tuesday (11) the request for arrest against architect Adriana Villela,

Adriana was sentenced to 61 years and 3 months in prison for the crime, which took place on August 28, 2009. The case was known as “crime of 113 South”, a court where the family lived in Brasilia.

Adriana’s father was former Minister of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) José Guilherme Villela. The mother was lawyer Maria Carvalho Mendes Villela. The maid, Francisca Nascimento da Silva. All were stabbed to death.

What the defense says

Pointing out as the mastermind of the crime, Adriana Villela was taken to a popular jury ten years after the crime in 2019.

According to the STJ, the defense of Adriana Villela alleges, among other points, that she only got access to some media with testimonials from the defendants when the jury had already started, which would have configured defense curtailment and brought procedural losses to the defendant.

The architect’s lawyers would also have argued that the condemnatory decision of the jury was contrary to the evidence of the case.

In addition to questioning the conviction, the defense submitted to the STJ a request for provisional protection to attribute suspensive effect to the appeal, so that it was not possible to begin the provisional execution of the sentence.

A CNN tries to contact Adriana’s defense and the space is still open for demonstration.
