Industrial accidents are frequent in China
At least four people died and another four were injured following an explosion on the premises of a company in the city of Taizhou, east of China, local press said.
The incident occurred at 15:30 (07:30, in Lisbon) on Tuesday, at the premises of a biotechnology company, the local newspaper Global Times said.
Rescue and rescue efforts were completed, investigating the cause of the explosion and medical treatment of the injured.
Local authorities ensured that the explosion did not cause any environmental side effects near the factory after measurements were made.
Industrial accidents are frequent in China due to poorly rigorous safety protocols and lack of control.
In January last year, an explosion in a factory in the same province killed eight people and injured eight others, while in 2019, an explosion in a chemical factory also in Jiangsu province made 78 dead and hundreds of injured, and was later ordered to inspect all chemical factories in the country.
