The former president (PL) said, on Tuesday (11), that his relationship with the governor of São Paulo, Tarcisio de Freitas (Republicans), has always been very positive, and that, since 2018, considers the current governor a “brilliant manager” and with great potential for the political future of Brazil.
“It was love at first sight since 2018. I have a lot to thank Tarcisio as a minister. He is a brilliant manager, ”said Bolsonaro during an event. The former president still made a joke, saying, “Let’s even sleep together today,” demonstrating a good personal relationship with the governor.
Bolsonaro also assured that Tarcisio will run for reelection in 2026 and reaffirmed his own plans to run for the Presidency of the Republic in the same year, despite his ineligibility for eight years, determined by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).
“Next year, we will both be candidates. He goes to reelection and me to president. I do not appear to a candidate is a denial to democracy, ”he said, pointing to the certainty that if he is allowed to dispute, he will win the presidential election. The former president also commented that he believes that changes in the TSE can dispel any doubt about his eligibility.
Bolsonaro’s support to Tarcisio and his willingness to continue with his political plans reflect the strengthening of the relationship between both and the political scenario for 2026.
