(Reuters)-The House of Representatives, controlled by the Republicans, approved on Tuesday a bill, by 217 votes to 213, which seeks to avoid a government stoppage at the end of the week.

The bill extends the government’s funding largely at current levels until September 30.

It will also have to be approved by the Senate to ensure that government agencies can continue operating after Friday midnight, when current financing should expire.
