Former PT treasurer Delúbio Soares should be a candidate for federal deputy in 2026, in return to the political scene after his condemnation for involvement in the monthly-the bribery of congressmen to buy political support.
The petista must be a candidate for Goiás. Delúbio has traffic with mayors and has made articulations in Brasilia, where he already asks votes to those who have a Goian voter title. His family is from Buriti Alegre, in the interior of the state.
His candidacy would mark the PT’s effort to enlarge names that were weakened because of corruption investigations. José Dirceu is another who should try to return to the House in candidacy by São Paulo.
Delúbio was also convicted by Lava Jato for money laundering and arrested in 2018, the same year of Lula’s arrest. In 2023, the STJ (Superior Court of Justice) annulled the conviction, understanding that the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba had no competence to prosecute and judge the accusations against him. At the time of the monthly, he was expelled from the PT, but returned in 2011.
