The mayor of, (), works to make himself possible as a candidate for the state government in the next.
Nunes has already talked about it with secretaries, councilors and party leaders. According to these allies, he always conditions the idea to the exit of the current governor (Republicans), to run for the presidency.
Two weeks ago, according to São Paulo councilors, after seeing results from a poll survey that put him in the dispute leadership in a scenario without Tarcisio, he referred links celebrating the survey by WhatsApp to politicians in his base.
The research, from the Paraná Research Institute, tested 7 electoral scenarios, 4 of them with Tarcisio (which led in all). Without the governor, Nunes was on the end, even marking 35% of voting intentions, according to the company.
In these conversations, still according to his allies, the mayor says that if he entered the dispute, he would already have 3 million voters start – a reference to the vote he obtained in last year’s dispute, in the second round, against (PSOL).
One of Nunes’ main allies in the city, heard by SheetHe said that the mayor already devotes part of his time to study the demands of the population within the state, preparing for a possible dispute.
Interest in the interior, according to another first -time ally, had already become evident even before the research that brought him well positioned.
Nunes called four former mayors from large municipalities to the composition of his first level: de, Orlando Lorando (Urban Security); de Suzano, Rodrigo Ashiuchi (green and environment); de, Rogério Lins (sports); and Jundiaí, Luiz Fernando Machado (partnerships and privatization).
The movement is similar to what (PSDB) did when he ruled the city from January 2005 to March 2006. At the time, he invited inland politicians to command subprefectures, in a strategy to create electoral bases in regions outside the capital.
The evaluation of allies is that part of the public policies that Nunes execute at this time aims to attract votes of the right -wing voter of the interior of São Paulo, a responsible slice, in 2022, by the election of Tarcisio.

Nunes would have about a year to enable his candidacy. To run for government, he would need to resign in April next year, while Tarcísio would have to leave the post to run for the presidency.
The city would then be with the deputy, Ricardo Mello Araújo (PL), former commander of the route nominated for the plate of Nunes by the former president (PL).
The mayor, however, would have to explain the decision to the electorate. Shortly after being reelected last October, in an interview with the Metrópoles website, he promised to fulfill his term to the end.
In addition, Nunes would have to enter a dispute for the indication of Tarcisio. Among the quotes are the President of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL), and some indicated by (PSD).
In the case of Kassab, one of the mayor’s allies points out that the PSD president was the first to declare formal support to Nunes reelection, still in December 2023. Therefore, the understanding of the caption is that the mayor has an agreement to support the acronym in the São Paulo government.
In addition, the current deputy governor, Felício Ramuth (PSD), would take office in a possible departure from Tarcisio, and allies consider it natural that he tries to enable an application for reelection.
According to allies, Nunes already told Mello Araújo, in a joke, that he will take over the city.
These allies, however, point out that Mello gives no room to discuss the issue because he is a loyal military to Bolsonaro. He follows the logic that Nunes will not be able to run for the government because Tarcisio will not be able to run for the presidency. Although the former president is ineligible by decision of the (Superior Electoral Court), his followers argue that he will be a candidate.
Nunes, in turn, denies these initiatives. “People say that thinking they are helping. But they don’t help. Taking care of the city is a lot of work and that’s what I’m doing now,” he said.
He said he did not remember sending messages to the allies, but says that all his surroundings was excited about the results. “There are many names in front, like Kassab, a.”
