Unnamed Russian sources previously, according to Reuters, responded to the US proposal reserved and indicated that Russian President Vladimir Putin would probably not accept it in its current form. According to these officials, any agreement to end the war in Ukraine had to take into account Russian territorial profits and the current concerns of Moscow.
Konstantin Kosačev, chairman of the Foreign Committee of the Upper Chamber of the Russian Parliament, stressed that a possible agreement must be under conditions determined by Russia, not the United States.
