“Tariffs are having a tremendously positive impact,” Trump said at a Business Roundtable event, ignoring the stock market reaction
WASHINGTON (Reuters)-US President Donald Trump told CEOs of large companies on Tuesday that new tariffs may be higher than 25%.
“Tariffs are having a tremendously positive impact,” Trump told Business Roundtable event, ignoring the stock market reaction.
He said the rates can be over 25%. “The higher they are, the more likely they build” in the United States.
He also defended Tesla’s executive, Elon Musk, who is leading a White House effort to reduce the federal government.
“We had some small setbacks, not large, but we saved a huge amount of money,” said Trump.
