French model stood out for its versatility, appealing design, building quality, diversified range and competitive price that starts around 15 thousand euros. But there are more winners, in other categories.
O Citroen C3symbol of brand rebirth – even brought him a new logo – was elected the car of the year 2025 in Portugal by direct insurance car of the year/trophy Crystal, taking first place to the winner of last year’s edition.
According to, the French model stood out of models such as Byd Sealion 7, Cupra Terramar, Dacia Duster, Kia Ev3, Peugeot 3008 and Renault 5 for their versatility, appealing design, diverse range and competitive price that starts around 15 thousand euros.
Available in various versions, C3 offers hybrid and fully electric gasoline engine for various needs. The gasoline version is equipped with a 1.2 -liter engine that debits 100 hp, from 15.240€ and the hybrid version, with a tricylindrical gasoline engine and a 48V hybrid system, is scheduled for April and will be available from 20.500€.
In addition to winning the main trophy, the innovator C3 also won the category of Citadine of the Yearwith its 100% electric version, −C3equipped with a 43.8 kWh battery, with an autonomy of 320 kilometers, available from 23.300€. The brand also plans to launch a version with a lower capacity and autonomy battery of 200 kilometers, with prices below 20 thousand euros.
Another big winner was the Renault 5 E-Tech Iconican electric version of the iconic model of the brand, which won in the categories of Design do Ano e Electric of the Year.
This year the competition featured 72 models divided into eight categories: city, design, sports/leisure, electric, family, plug-in, compact SUV and large SUV. The jury panel, consisting of 18 specialized journalists from various newspapers, evaluated the models based on criteria such as aesthetics, performance, safety, reliability, price and environmental sustainability.
