1.99 euros, 2.49 euros: Pretty much everyone in their life will have been surprised at the shelves in supermarkets and other shops. What pretends the consumer to not have to pay two euros, because the one is prior, lets the wallet become bulbous for those who prefer the cash payment. In Germany it is now being debated whether the smallest copper coins are still needed.
