Protesters went to the streets against Milei government measures related to cuts on social security benefits
Protests in Buenos Aires this Wednesday (12.mar.2025) against measures from the government of (La Liberdad Avanza, right) mobilized by retirees and organized fans of soccer clubs They ended in clashes with the (Federal Police Argentina).
According to the authorities, 60 people were arrested and 6 agents, 3 of the police and 3 of (Argentina Naval City Hall), were injured. Protesters protested mainly against cuts on social security benefits. Safety forces used tear gas, rubber bullets and hydrant trucks to disperse participants. The information is from the newspaper.
Through her profile in the X (former Twitter), National Security Minister Patricia Bullrich said the government adopts a zero tolerance policy regarding acts.
“Our forces are mobilized to enforce the protocol: traffic is not interrupted and Hooligans are kept on the sidewalks”he wrote.
During the protests, a group blocked Rivadavia Avenue in the center of the country’s capital, singing songs against police repression.

In recent days, fans of various Argentine clubs have summoned acts of support for retirees. The mobilization was between club supporters such as Boca Juniors, River Plate, Independiente, Racing and Estudants.
Argentina’s National Security Ministry announced that the government would apply strict measures against groups, including the possibility of prison punishment for those who obstruct public roads or services.

The repression of the protest caused the reaction of opposition leaders and unions, while politicians of LEMAD Avanza came out in support of the government.
