Senate approves simple language project in official documents

The measure seeks to make government communication more accessible and understandable to all citizens

The Senate approved this Wednesday (12.mar.2025) the project that proposes the Use of simple language in official documentsfacilitating understanding for all citizens. The PL (bill) 6,256 of 2019 is authored by the federal deputy (PT-DF). This is the full project ().

The proposal establishes standards to make government communication more accessible, recommending objective texts with simple language, direct structure and clear organization.

The text rapporteur, Senator (MDB-SE), included amendments to the project, as the recommendation that, whenever possible, when serving indigenous communities, a version in the language of recipients is published. The project now returns to the House.

Another 2 projects were approved in plenary. One of them, which proposes the free disorder of educational information on disease prevention by radio and television stations. The other is the, which is the Educational Cooperation Agreement between the Federal Government and the Government of Mongolia, signed in Brasilia on September 21, 2025.
