Never put next to orchids. You will waste all the potential of flowering

Orchidee, or popular orchids, are unique flowers. They come from Asia, but they are perfect for Polish window sills. They are associated with beauty and innocence. Importantly, orchids can bloom for months, and large specimens can bloom up to twice a year. The care of orchids is not complicated and does not require specialized gardening knowledge. Its basis is a permeable substrate, watering and regular fertilization. Sometimes, however, that for some reason, orchid does not want to bloom. It often turns out that the reason is trivial. During the heating period, many people move orchids from the window sill. A close proximity with a hot radiator is deadly for orchids. They hate dry air well. The problem, however, is that in winter orchids are usually placed on the table near the fruit bowl. It turns out that orchida are very sensitive to some fruits that can stop their flowering. This mainly applies to citrus and apples. This happens due to the secreted ethylene, which affects orchid flowers. It is better not to put the orchid in a loved one.

Spring care of orchids

It is not demanding, but you have to remember a few things. First of all, at the beginning it is worth taking care of the appropriate substrate – it must be extremely absorbent, and at the same time pass the air. Therefore, the easiest way will be to choose a ready mixture for orchids.

Orchid irrigation is the most important step in her care. Their watering requires a special way because otherwise the orchid roots can start to rot. The orchid must be able to collect water from the air. Set the dish with water behind the pot – the plant will take as much water as it needs at the moment. With direct watering, remember to avoid completely immersion.

One of the reasons why the orchid does not bloom can be a bad way of cutting the plant or lack of it. In general, overgrown inflorescences should be cut above the third bud. Thanks to this, orchids will bloom like crazy. But beware! Not all species of these flowers like this way of care. In the case of Falenopsis orchids – the so -called moths you have to wait for complete death of shoots, and then remove them safely.
