From the 2026-2027 season, the German brand will be the official ball supplier for the two main divisions of German football
Adidas, the German sports goods company, on Thursday (13.mar.2025) a 4 -year contract with DFL (Deutsche Foßball League). The company will be the official ball supplier for the first and second division of German football, Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, respectively, from season 2026-2027 until the end of season 2029-30. The deal also includes Franz Beckenbauer Supercup and the relegation play-off, marking Adidas’s return to German football.
Derbystar, current supplier, will continue until the end of the 2025-26 season. Adidas takes up the partnership with Bundesliga after an offer accepted by DFL and 36 clubs. “The selection of the official game ball is of particular relevance to the Bundesliga, the highest score league in Europe. Adidas presented a very strong offer, accepted by DFL and 36 clubs in all parameters ”, Steffen Merkel, CEO of DFL, declared.
“We are very excited about the new partnership with DFL. Future cooperation once again strengthens our presence in the domestic market. After all these years, it was very important for us to supply the official ball of the match to the German Bundesliga. Now we can barely wait to write a new chapter along with the 2026-27 season DFL ”, said Marina Moguš, Adidas Administrative Director for Central Europe.
In addition to German football, Adidas maintains a presence in global sport. This includes a supply agreement of long -term kits with Liverpool, an English football giant, which will begin after Nike’s contract with the club at the end of July.
