Flamengo confirmed the renewal of the contract of canoeist Isaquias Queiroz this Thursday (13).
The athlete has been in the club since 2019. Of the five Olympic medals he won in his career, two were under contract with Flamengo.
Marcus Vinícius Simões Freire, Flamengo’s Olympic sports director, explained the goal of renewals with Olympic medalists who work at the club. “My mission was to renew with all the Paris medalists. Jade, Rebeca, Lorraine and Flavinha (athletes of gymnastics with renewals between December and February) renewed. Rafaela Silva (from judo and renewed in January) too. The only one who was not signed was Isaquias, and signed last night, ”said during the Brazilian Olympic Committee fair, the CBC & Clubs Expo, in Campinas, in the interior of São Paulo.
Five medals
In 2020, he went to Gold in Tokyo at C1 1000. In 2024, it was silver in Paris for the same category. In Brazil, in 2016, Isaquias was silver at C1 1000 and C2 1000 with Erlon Silva and Bronze at C1 200.
