Spring hydrangea care. How to fertilize a bush?
Hydrangea is a real queen of Polish gardens. Although it comes from Asia, it is doing very well in the Polish atmosphere. Depending on the species, hydrangea bushes bloom from June to September. Their large and spherical flowers delight everyone. Even after flowering, they persist on the stems and decorate the garden in autumn. Currently, over 80 different species of hydrangeas are cultivated in the world, of which only a few are grown in Poland. The most popular hydrangea varieties include:
- Bouquet hydrangea – has conical flowers and requires cutting in spring. Known varieties of bouquet hydrangea are endless Summer, Nikko Blue and Bailmer.
- Tree hydrangea – is a fairly high shrub that creates loose shoots. Well -known varieties are Annabelle and Invincibelle Spirit.
- Water hydrangea – the largest of hydrangeas. It reaches up to 20 m. It is planted around old trees or on the walls.
- Garden hydrangea is the most popular, but also demanding, a species of hydrangea. It blooms on last year’s shoots.
Hydress fertilization should be started just after removing. Some species of hydrangea require winter covering, but I dream is a good time to remove agrotextile. The beginning of spring is also a time of intensive fertilization. It is now that the plant should be properly strengthened and it should be protected against the effects of diseases and pests. In spring, nitrogen -containing fertilizers are most often recommended. This component not only strengthens the root system of plants, but also extends flowering processes. In fertilizers for hydrangea nitrogen gently acidifies the soil. Potassium and phosphorus content is equally important in fertilizers. Both of these ingredients stimulate hydrangeas to grow and improve the condition of the whole plant. These fertilizers can be used until late autumn. In September, however, it is worth limiting nitrogen fertilization so as not to extend the vegetation period and give the plant time to prepare for winter.
In March and April I water with this hydrangea. Homemade conditioner that stimulates flowering
At home, home fertilizers are often recommended. You can water the bush with coffee grounds or banana cuticles. Piekarski yeast conditioner is also a great way to nourish hydrangea. They contain many valuable vitamins and microelements that improve the condition of hydrangea. These include potassium, magnesium and vitamins B1, B2 and B3. Yeast fertilizer strengthens the root system and facilitates the intake of water from the soil, which is extremely important in early spring. In addition, yeast also protects against microorganisms and bacteria and prevent many diseases to which plants are exposed. How to prepare for hydrangea made of bakery yeast? All you have to do is fill 100 g fermented yeast with two glasses of sugar and set aside for about 2 hours. When the sugar is completely dissolved, pour the whole lazy with water. Yeast fertilizer for hydrangea will be ready after a few days. Before watering, dilute it with water in a proportions of 1 cup of fertilizer per 10 liters of water.
