Former criminal police officer Jorge Guaranho, for the death of the Municipal Guard and petista militant Marcelo Arruda in Foz do Iguaçu (PR) in 2022, began this Friday (14) to serve a sentence at the CMP (Penal Medical Complex), in Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region.
On February 13, Guaranho was sentenced at the Curitiba Jury Court to a 20 -year prison sentence in closed initial regime. But the next day, he obtained an injunction at the Paraná Court of Justice to remain in house arrest.
On the night of Thursday (13), house arrest was revoked by Judge Gamaliel Scaff. The CMP confirmed to Sheet that Guaranho arrived at the CMP this Friday morning.
Guaranho’s defense defended house arrest by claiming that the former criminal police officer has permanent injuries that would require continuous and specialized treatment.
The magistrate, however, questioned the CMP about the situation and understood that the place is able to welcome Guaranho.
