One of the easiest and most effective ways to saturate the soil with nutrients is to use onion shells. It is easily accessible, cost -free and particularly useful natural fertilizer, which not only nourishes plants but also repels pests. They contain minerals, amino acids, vitamins and other beneficial substances. In this article you will learn how to use onion shells to fertilize sprouts, garden plants and houseplants to grow healthy and bloom even more.
How to prepare fertilizer?
- Take the onion shells.
- Cut them with small pieces with scissors.
- They can be placed directly in the soil and growing seedlings.
- Just mix them with the soil.
- This ratio must be as follows: 1 part of the shell and 4 parts of the soil.
- The onion shells gradually decompose and feed the seedlings for a long time.
You can also prepare a decoction from the onion shells.
- Fill up to a third of the container with a one -liter container with onion shells, ie approximately 10 g.
- Then fill them with hot water to the top.
- Close the pan with the lid and leave to stay for a few days.
- Then transfer the decoction and dilute 2 liters of water.
The prepared fertilizer can be used for root watering and spraying of leaves. Use once every 2-3 weeks when the first leaves appear.
Onion shells for flowering flowers
The onion shells that are waste for us are simply vitamin bomb for our garden and flowers. There is no need to spend money on fertilizers when you can easily prepare the nutrients you need at home.
How to prepare fertilizer for flowering flowers
- Take the onion shells and place them in a jar.
- Fill with water, close with a lid and leave for 2 days at room temperature.
- After this time, you will notice that the water color will darken.
- Open the lid, transfer the water to a clean jar to keep the solution clear and leave the onion shells.
- You can use the onion shells left in the jar again.
- Fill them again with water, leave for 2 days to stand, and the solution will still be valuable.
You can use this undiluted solution directly as indoor or garden plants. It also acts as an effective remedy for flies. Onion shells contain vitamins A, B and vitamin C. They also contain potassium, magnesium, calcium, iodine, phosphorus and sulfur. With this fertilizer, your flowers will blossom.
