Melbourne-Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc secured the best time in the second training session of the new Formula 1 season. The Monegasse circled the Albert Park Circuit in Melbourne in the faster afternoon session on soft tires in 1: 16.439 minutes and was thus in front of the two McLaren from local hero Oscar Piatri (+0.124 seconds) and vice world champion Lando Norris (+0.141). The Briton Norris had achieved the best time in the first unit.
