Πορτογαλία: Πρόωρες βουλευτικές εκλογές στις 18 Μαΐου

Its chairman announced tonight the dismantling of the House and the announcement of early parliamentary parliamentaries on May 18, following the collapse of the Conservative Government of Luis Modenegro, who was accused by the opposition of conflict.

President Marcelo Rembelo de Souza stressed that he wants to secure the country’s stability, stating that May 18th is “the date that most parties prefer” to hold the elections.

For several weeks now, outgoing Prime Minister Luis Modtenegro had been targeted by the opposition who criticized him for conflict of interests due to a family business.

The opposition complained that Spinumvira, founded by Montenegro in 2021, benefited from taking over as head of the Portuguese government and ended contracts with various private companies.

The outgoing prime minister denies that anything illegal has become and stresses that the business is now owned by his sons. However, he avoided giving any information about the company’s clientele.

Despite Salo, Luis Montenegro intends to be a candidate again in the forthcoming elections, Tuesdays from 2022 in Portugal. According to polls, the Democratic Alliance of Montenegro may increase its rates compared to the elections held in March 2024.
