“I hope you go a million, I appeal even, because it’s not my future,” he said.
The demonstration, scheduled to take place on Sunday at Copacabana Beach, in Rio de Janeiro, initially predicted among his guidelines the request for impeachment of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
However, according to organizers, Bolsonaro disallowed this approach, and the focus now will be in slogans like “Amnesty Já” and “Outside Lula 2026”.
The call happens amid the advancement of investigations into an alleged attempted coup d’état.
On February 18, Bolsonaro was indicted by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for the crimes of attempted violent abolition of the Democratic Rule of Law, coup and criminal organization.
The analysis of the complaint, by the 1st Panel of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), is scheduled for March 25.
Criticism of the TSE
During the podcast participation, Bolsonaro again criticized the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), stating that the court would have act to benefit Lula in the 2022 elections.
“No one on the left could defeat me, Ciro, Haddad… According to them, the name to defeat me was Lula, so they reinterpreted the instance, he had convictions. They nullified and he returned to stake zero, was again eligible, ”he said.
The former president also claimed that the TSE favored Lula during the election. “There was the heavy hand of the TSE to him, the heavy hand of the pro-lula TSE,” he said.
Declarations occur in the context of investigations into disinformation in the 2022 elections, which resulted in Bolsonaro’s ineligibility until 2030, according to the TSE’s own decision.
