The Institute of Mobility and Transport () launched a contest for the purchase of electric vehicles for the taxi sector following the transport fund, which offers one million euros, the government announced on Saturday.

In a statement, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Housing clarifies that the Fund for the Public Transport Service offers one million euros to the taxi sector.

The warning, published by IMT, privileges the areas of low density and “more deficit” in terms of transportation offering.

For the acquisition of electric vehicles, the support will be 5,000 euros per vehicle, and the support rises to 6,000 euros if the taxi license is issued in a low density municipality.

Support will be assigned to a maximum of 10 taxis or 100,000 euros per beneficiary.

For the slaughter of vehicles over 10 years old, a support of 6,000 euros is set and the purchase of loading equipment is reimbursed at 75% to the maximum limit of 750 euros.

In the area of scanning, the support reimburses 50%, up to 5,000 euros per beneficiary, taximeters purchases, invoice printers, electronic loading applications and devices to issue invoices by e -mail.

The tender warning, which establishes the admissibility and rules conditions, is available on the IMT ‘website’ and applications may be submitted until October 31.

In the statement, the government points out that the support for decarbonization and digitization of the sector “represents the duplication of the funds initially provided for 2024”.

“This amount can be reinforced based on the effective demand and the budgetary availability of the Transport Fund, similar to what happened last year that had an increase of 750 thousand euros,” he says.
