Nelson Jobim argues to resume dialogue

According to the former president of the Supreme Court, the current moment is “exhaustion and disappearance” of the world order created after World War II

The former president of (Federal Supreme Court) and former Minister of Justice and Defense Nelson Jobim said it needs “Resume dialogue” e “Remove hatred from politics”. The statement was given during the event “Democracy 40 years: achievements, debts and challenges”, for thelinked to in the Pantheon of the Fatherland and Freedom Tancredo Neves, in Brasilia, this Saturday (15.mar.2025).

According to Jobim, the current moment is “Exhaustion and disappearance” of the world order created after the end of World War II (1939-1945). “There is a world in the future that we do not know which […] We have to have the responsibility to build a model after 1946 that can regulate our international relations ”he declared.

The minister said that Brazil and South America need to participate in this process, because “These drawings arise precisely from successive understandings and dialogues”not only internally. Said that hatred makes dialogue unfeasible and that it is necessary to resume the “Positions of Democrats […] who know how to build the future with institutional designs that enable freedom ”.
