Norris is pole, and Bortoleto leaves 15th in the Australia GP – 15/03/2025 – Sport

Lando Norris won the pole position for McLaren at the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, which opens the season in Melbourne on Sunday (16). Norris teammate Oscar Pastri will start second on the grid.

“It’s the perfect way to start the year,” said Norris. “Let’s wait and see tomorrow, I know it will be a complicated race.

Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto was in 15th place, by Sauber, and Lewis Hamilton, in his debut at Ferrari, in 8th.

Before Paulista Bortoletto, the last Brazilian starter pilot on the F1 grid had been Felipe Massa, eight years ago, by Williams.

The first race of the season takes place in Australia, at dawn on Sunday (16), at 1 am (Brasília time), at the Albert Park racetrack in Melbourne. Band and Bandsports convey the race.

The 20 -year -old will make his debut in the main category of world motor racing.

He started running from karting at age 6, in the Karting of Interlagos, Granja Viana and Aldeia da Serra. He won competitions in Brazil and moved in 2017 to Europe in search of experience.
