Different groups urge the authorities to solve the case quickly, the portal writes. The Philippine police discovered the body of a missing Slovak citizen in an abandoned chapel on Wednesday (12 March) in the afternoon. Michaela M. († 23) was missing from Monday, March 10 and was likely to be a victim of murder. She was reportedly raped before her death. This was reported by the Philippine news website ABS-CBN and the local TV station GMA Network.
The police commander confirmed that on March 1, Michael arrived to Boracay’s island along with another Slovak, but stayed in various hotels. Her companion said that after the end of her stay, the woman did not return to the hotel and could not be called. The Slovak reported this fact to the police and asked the inhabitants for help in the search. Her disappearance was also reported by her Philippine girlfriend and, as a reward for the information that would lead to its finding, offered 50,000 Philippine Pesos (approximately 800 euros).
According to the latest information, the men of the law identified two interest persons. Local police chief Mar Joseph Ravelo said that there were two people who accompanied Michael on the shots of industrial cameras on the day she was last seen by her friends. The two persons are subject to investigation.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs (MZvez) SR is informed about the death of a citizen of the Slovak Republic, The Jakarta Authority is in contact with the family and provides assistance within its competence.
