President leads voting intentions in the 1st round in the state to 2026, against 28% of Bolsonaro, according to Paraná Research
The President (PT) leads voting intentions in Pernambuco for the 2026 presidential elections, with 45% of the electorate’s preference. The former president (PL), currently ineligibleappears in 2nd place, with 28%.
The data are survey conducted from March 8 and 12, 2025, with 1,652 voters in 64 municipalities of the state. The margin of error is 2.5 percentage points. Read A (PDF – 477 KB).
Despite the leadership, the numbers indicate a Significant drop in supporting Lula Regarding the last election. In 2022, the petista obtained 67% of the votes in the 2nd round in Pernambuco, compared to 33% of Bolsonaro. In the first round of that year, Lula had already registered ample advantage, with 65% of voting intentions compared to 30% of the then president.
The retreat of 22 percentage points in relation to the second round performance of 2022 signals a wear on Lula support in the state, traditional PT stronghold. On the other hand, Bolsonaro kept a stable level compared to the previous election.
The survey also points to a more competitive scenario in Pernambuco, which has historically guaranteed expressive votes for the petista. Lula’s performance in the Northeast has been one of the main pillars of his electoral strategy.
