The World Surfing League Peniche stage (WSL) is scheduled to begin this Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the famous Peniche beach in Portugal. This will be the third event of the season and will mark Italo Ferreira’s debut with Lycra Amarela in 2025.

Which Brazilians will be in the Peniche stage?
Brazil comes strong for this stage with a team filled with talent. In addition to Italo Ferreira, who debuts with Lycra Amarela, will also be in the dispute João Chianca, Filipe Toledo, Tatiana Weston-Webb, Alejo Muniz, Edgard Groggia, Samuel Pupo, Miguel Pupo, Deivid Silva, Ian Gouveia and Luana Silva.
João Chianca, who won in Peniche in 2023, will try to repeat the feat and secure another title for Brazil. Filipe Toledo, two-time WSL champion, already knows the Portuguese wave well and seeks to repeat the victory won in 2015. Among women, Tatiana Weston-Webb tries to repeat the title of 2022 in the Portuguese stage.

How are the waves forecasts?
Wave conditions for the beginning of the competition are not very favorable, with predictions of weak waves in the first three days. The situation can improve from Monday (17). From Tuesday (18) onwards, the forecast indicates more consistent waves and even the possibility of superior, which should raise the level of the competition.
