At least 50 young people dead in a fire in a disco in Macedonia del Norte

Dozens of people died and a hundred were injured in a fire happened in a disco In the Macedonia town of Kocani, several local media that cite medical and police sources reported.

According to those sources, The fire was declared around 03.00 in the morning during a concert at the ‘Pulse’ discoin which there were about 1,500 people, especially young people, to attend a concert of the local DNK band.

Some local media say that The number of victims exceeds 50although for the moment there are no official data.

The Ministry of Interior of Macedonia del Norte would have arrested several people related in some way to the organization of the event in Kocani, which is about one hundred kilometers east of the Skopie capital.

The MK.MK news portal ensures that The first information indicates that the fire was caused by the improper use of pyrotechnics inside the room.

After the fire began, panic took place in the disco and a stampede.

Many of the victims died suffocated by smoke while others died burned by the flames.

About thirty injured were transferred to hospitals in Skopie, who is one hour by car.

Many parents, desperate for what happened, look for their children through social networkswhere they place their photos and ask for information on whether someone has seen them in a clinic where the injured were sent.

The newspaper Nezisen informs in its electronic edition that the Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of Interior have limited themselves to informing that they continue working at the scene of the accident and that they are identifying the victims.

In social networks and in several local television channels, mobile phone videos of the moment in which the fire begins inside the disco begins.

Macedonian Prime Minister, Hristijan Mickoski announced that a work trip scheduled for tomorrow will postponeLunes, A Podgorica (Montenegro).

Mickoski will also request the postponement of the Summit of Leaders of the Western Balkans, scheduled for next Wednesday and Thursday in Podgorica, his office in Skopie reported.
