Starring by the actress Lisa Kudrow (“Friends”), the horror comedy “A terror of relatives” It arrived at the Max streaming service on Thursday (13). In an interview provided exclusively to CNN Production creators Craig Johnson (Director) and Kent Sublette (screenwriter), revealed some details about the new work.
The production accompanies the young couple Rohan and Josh as they organize a perfect weekend in the countryside to introduce their parents. But as tensions increase between traditional Sharon and Frank and relaxed Liddy and Cliff, families soon discover that the house is haunted by a paranormal event called 400 -year -old Poltergeist
When one parent ends up completely possessed, it is up to Rohan and Josh to unite families and defeat the evil entity once and for all.
Sublette revealed that wrote the story based on its own experience.
“The inspiration for the script came from when my husband and I started dating, a long time ago. Our parents had not known yet. ‘Let’s make everyone come for three days and spend three days together’. I won’t say it was a disaster, but it was very stressful. And we said to each other: ‘The only thing that would make it more difficult is if this house was misappropriate,’ ”joked the professional.

“It has so many different elements. I think people may think this may be funny, but it certainly won’t be scary, right? Or this can be kind of scary, but how funny could it be? I hope it’s both. This is my hope, ”added Johnson.
For the director, it is the face of classics like “The Ghosts have fun” (1988), “Poltergeist-The Phenomenon” (1982), “The Ghost Hunts” (1984) and “Gremlins” (1984).
“The script was sent to me and I couldn’t believe it while I read it because I thought, ‘It reminds me of the movies I loved as a child.’ I am a 80s child and a 90’s teenager. You saw movies like these a little more at that time… The movies were not afraid to mix genres to be scary and funny, ”he said.
“These were my favorite movies, so I looked at it as an opportunity to direct the kind of movie that kind of inspired me to become a filmmakerand I knew I needed to be funny and frightening in equal measures, ”he concluded.
