Evangelical pastor Silas Malafaia, one of the organizers of, called the Supreme Court (STF) minister of “dictator” before the beginning of the event on Sunday (16). According to Malafaia, who is Bolsonaro’s first -time ally, Brazil is experiencing “political persecution” never seen.

“He is a dictator, who is extrapolating all the laws of our country. It is a real political persecution like we have never seen in the history of our country,” he said.

Malafaia, who also organized the acts performed by Bolsonaro on Paulista Avenue and Copacabana last year, avoided talking about how many protesters should attend this Sunday. The evangelical pastor said, however, that the left cannot “put even half.”

“I do not ask to kill, I do not ask for any of this, I only put in the hand of God, that God knows who God wants to save. How are you going to say a prayer to the Lord, your son? I do not, I do not say this prayer. God knows what God wants. Often God wants to save a guy like that. And I, I will be fighting against God, so I better deliver to God’s hand and do my part of a citizen, ”said Malafaia during a preaching to the Rio de Janeiro State Council of Evangelical Ministers (Comerci).

In 2023, during the march to Jesus in Rio de Janeiro, the pastor called Moraes a “dictator” and accused him of acting “collusion” with the federal government. At the time, he said that the minister’s “house” would “fall into the hands of God, the people, or the Senate.”

Also before the beginning of the act, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated that this Sunday’s event seeks to defeat “alexandrism.” In defending the amnesty to the convicts of the acts of January 8, the parliamentarian also said that Moraes acts as if he wanted to “realize a revenge.”
