President Mulino said that the power failure was also affected by waterworks and the deliveries would gradually renew.

Panama is experiencing an extensive power outage. Shortly before midnight local time it was caused by damage to the private generator, said on Sunday President José Raul Mulino, saying that the authorities are trying to ensure gradual recovery of electricity supplies. According to AFP, TASR writes about it.

The outage also hit the supply of drinking water

Panama residents have also temporarily lost the supply of drinking water, as the outage, according to the authorities, also affected local waterworks.

Mulino posted a video on the X Social Network, which he said he captures an explosion in the Southwest facility from the capital Panama. “Delivery (electricity and drinking water) will be gradually renewed,” the President added, adding that he has contacted the relevant authorities with a request to clarify the incident details.
