Anac authorizes Fernando de Noronha airport to receive jets

The terminal on the island was prohibited from receiving this type of plane since October 2022, when the air sector regulatory agency identified safety problems on the aerodrome landing track. Initially, the ban would extend until April this year, but after ANAC reevaluated the conditions of the track, the airport is allowed to receive the aircraft from Tuesday (18.mar).

The works on the Fernando de Noronha airport track are conducted by the Terminal concessionaire, and the government of Pernambuco. Even with authorization, interventions to improve the track will continue until December this year. The works for the complete recovery of the will be monitored by ANAC and are conditional for the continuity of aircraft operations in the aerodrome.

Turbojatos planes were the most used by airlines to arrive in Fernando de Noronha. With the authorization, the companies must present ANAC their plans for using the island aerodrome to ensure space to operate at the terminal.
