Governor of Goiás stated that the sentence given to the prisoner was “excessive”; Relationship between him and Bolsonaro is cracked
The governor of Goiás, (União Brasil), said it was the 1st supporting the amnesty of the prisoners involved on January 8. The politician said that the 17 -year sentence given to prisoners was “Excessive” And that the country needs “Leave this discussion innocuous behind”.
“About today’s demonstration in Copacabana, I mean that not only am I in favor of amnesty to protesters of January 8, but I was the first to defend it, in an interview with journalist Mário Sérgio Conti at the beginning of last year.”wrote Caiado in his X.
The governor argued that the country should do the same as Juscelino Kubitschek, who after suffering an attempted coup, “Gentled Amnesty and went to govern”.
The relationship between Caiado and the former president (PL) cracked during the 2024 municipal elections. Bolsonaro sent an indirect to the governor calling him During an act in Goiânia, capital of Goiás, without mentioning the name of Caiado. Bolsonaro act in Copacabana
Former President Jair Bolsonaro gathered allies in an act in favor of the amnesty of those arrested by the January 8 demonstrations. The manifestation is part of a mobilization to press Congress and the by annulment of the penalties imposed on those involved in the extremist acts of 8 January 2023.
It is the 1st manifestation since the (Attorney General’s Office) by tentative of blow.
The event was organized and funded by the evangelical pastor and longtime Bolsonaro ally, Silas Malafaia. It is the 3rd with the former president funded by the religious leader. He sponsored the acts of February 25 and September 7, 2024, on Paulista Avenue (SP).
