PDT deputy, Duda Salabert, requested precautionary measures against the former president after a speech that, according to her, feeds dissatisfaction of extremist groups
Federal Deputy Duda Salabert (PDT) requested, on Sunday (16), the pre-trial detention of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL). The parliamentarian claimed that Bolsonaro’s speech, made during one, in Rio de Janeiro, “encouraged doubts about the suitability of the electoral process” and had a “conspiracy tone.”
Bolsonaro stated at the event that his government “did his work” and again questioned his defeat in the 2022 elections to President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva (PT).
“The permanence of this false and inflamed discourse represents a risk to democratic order, as it feeds the dissatisfaction of extremist groups that in the past have already practiced violent acts against democratic institutions,” Salabert said in his application.

In addition to the request for pre -trial detention, the deputy also requested “precautionary measures” against Bolsonaro, such as “suspension of use of social networks” and the “prohibition of participation in public events that may serve as a platform for new undemocratic incitements”.
Bolsonaro’s act in Copacabana is part of a mobilization that aims to pressure the congress and the Supreme Court for annulment of the penalties imposed on those involved in the extremist acts of January 8, 2023. This is the first movement since the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
