A week -long material battle in Bregenz Didn’t change the mayor’s chair on Sunday. SPÖ man Michael Ritsch was and remains the head of the state capital-and without a runoff election. His challenger, the former ÖVP club chairman in the state parliament, Roland breakfast, came to only 30 percent. Ritsch is enough for the re -election. And not only that. The People’s Party was still ahead of the city council election five years ago, this is no longer the case: Social democracy has been the strongest force in Bregenz for the first time since 1995.
