The Ukrainian president, Zelenski, continues with his round – presentation or virtual – for the world gathering and dialogue with the main leaders with the objective of strengthening diplomatic relations, who continue to support their country in military, economic or any other matters and thank the allies for said support.
The last one on the list has been the newly appointed Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, who happened to Justin Trudeau just a few days ago. During the telephone conversation between both leaders, Zelenski thanked him for the pressure that all allies are exerting on Russia, as well as the help that they all continue to provide in humanitarian and security.
After his dialogue, Zelenski confirmed that he had spoken with Mark Carney, and that it was “a fruitful and substantial conversation that covered many important issues.” In addition, he revealed that he congratulated him for his recent appointment and thanked him for support, both in defensive matters and in the “energy sector.”
Both agreed on continuing to put pressure on Moscow and continue with the path established for three years: sanctions and more sanctions on the Kremlin, with the aim of weakening their economy and world status. “We must impose drastic sanctions on everything that finances the Russian war. Only we can force Putin to a fair and lasting peace,” said Zelenski.
Other issues such as the reconstruction of the country, humanitarian assistance and how to boost the Ukrainian economy after the end of the war, were other issues discussed in the call.
Thus, the collaboration between the two countries will continue to continue during the necessary time, in a continuous line to that of Trudeau and in the case of Canada, aligned with the Western international politics, of the G7, the NATO and the EU.
