There is not much missing from the one and a half years that the Gaza War, triggered by an attack by the Palestinian Hamas on Israel, now lasts, with unbearable suffering on both sides. Apocalyptic conditions prevail in the Gaza strip, in Israel the relatives of the remaining hostages despair in Hamas-Hand. The early forecast that an ideology like that of Hamas cannot be defeated has been true: on the one hand, it survives through the religiously primed willingness to violence, for which one’s own death is accepted, and on the other hand by the complete absence of perspectives for those of it.
