Brazil will enter the history of architecture with the construction of Senna Tower, which will become the largest residential building in the world. At 500 meters high, 154 floors and 228 apartments, the skyscrapers will be erected in Balneário Camboriú, Santa Catarina, surpassing the current record holder, the 111 West 57th Street in New York, which is 435 meters.
The project is a tribute to the legendary Formula 1 pilot Ayrton Senna and results from a partnership between the athlete’s family and FG Empreendimentos, a company in which Cristiano Ronaldo invested two years ago.
In addition to the impressive height, the building will feature leisure areas, observatories and luxury infrastructure. However, living in Senna Tower will not be for anyone: prices can reach 200 million reais (about 32 million euros) per housing.
The work, which began to be planned in 2019, is expected to be completed in less than a decade, consolidating Balneário Camboriú as a reference in luxury skyscrapers. The city already houses One Tower, currently the highest residential building in South America.
