Eduardo’s decision takes place a few days before former President Jair Bolsonaro’s trial in the Supreme Court (STF), who will decide whether to accept the complaint of the Attorney General’s Office on the attempted coup. If the complaint is accepted, Bolsonaro and his allies will have to be responsible for the crimes related to the acts of January 8, 2023.

In March, PT parliamentarians asked the Supreme Court for the seizure of Eduardo Bolsonaro’s passport, accusing him of promoting retaliation against Brazil during his trips abroad. The deputy reacted, stating that there was a “combined game” between Moraes, the PT and the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), with the seizure of his passport being an attempt to facilitate his arrest.

Eduardo Bolsonaro, who has been in the United States since February 27, has also been absent from an event promoted by his father in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (16/3), which focused on the defense of amnesty those involved in the acts of January 8.
