The Civil Police ended the police inquiry that investigated the disappearance of David Lima da Silva, which occurred in March 2021 in the village of Varzinha, in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Itiúba.

The inquiry, conducted by the Itiúba Territorial Police Station, was closed on the 13th, after the analysis of testimonials, reports and steps, which did not find indications of crimes in the case. No evidence of kidnapping, violence or any willful actions of third parties were detected.

Police and residents of the region have searched the entire forest and in various locations in Bahia, including the use of sniffer dogs. In a statement, the Bahia Civil Police states that helicopters, drones and other technologies were used.

The investigation featured testimonials and expertise conducted in the traces found in the area of ​​disappearance. The Civil Police requested search and seizure, breaks of telephone secrecy and data and made a simulated reproduction of events.

“We employ all possible efforts to clarify the case. Testimonials, steps, analyzes of anonymous complaints, precautionary measures, simulated reproduction and expert examinations were made, confirming the lack of crime,” said Regional Coordinator Atílio Dias da Silva Tércio.

The investigation was attended by the Itiúba DT, the 19th Regional Coordination of Interior Police (Coorpin) of Senhor do Bonfim, the Department of Homicides and Protection of Persons (DHPP), the Person Protection Police Station (DPP) and the Department of Interior Police (Depin).
